Hindu timekeeping identifies three shadow-planetary periods during each day that are traditionally considered inauspicious for beginning new ventures. These periods shift each day based on the day of the week and the local sunrise time. During these windows, classical texts advise avoiding starting travel, business deals, marriages, or other important undertakings — though existing tasks already in progress are not affected.
