Maiya Mori Main Nahi Makhana Khayo
Mahakavi Surdas's famous Bal-Krishna butter stealing Bhajan
Child Krishna says to Mother Yashoda— O Mother! I have not eaten the butter. At dawn, you sent me to the forest of Madhuban behind the cows. I wandered all day around Bansiwat and returned home only at dusk. I am just a little child with short arms; how could I ever reach the high pot hanging from the ceiling?
All these cowherd boys are against me and forcefully smeared butter on my mouth. O Mother, you are so simple-hearted that you believe their words. Surdas says— Hearing child Krishna's innocent and clever words, Yashoda smiled and embraced Kanha to her heart.
